Abstract


The aims of this research were to clarify the influence of entrepreneurial competence, business resources and innovation to competitive advantage of food micro, small and medium enterprises (MSME), also to understand the effect of entrepreneurial competence and business resources through innovation and its impact of food micro, small and medium enterprises (MSME) competitive advantage. The object of this study was food micro, small and medium enterprises (MSME) in Pekanbaru city that reached approximately 21.374 units in 2017 as population and 50 units as samples (according to Roscoe that stated sample size for social studies range from 30 to 500 ) taken randomly and proportionally based on location in 12 sub-districts, Pekanbaru city. Primary data obtained through questionnaire were analyzed with Path. The results of the study showed that entrepreneurial competence, business resources and innovation significantly had direct effect on competitive advantage, while entrepreneurial competence, and business resources through innovation significantly had indirect effect toward competitive advantage.
